Welcome to my world of weight maintenance. -Pat Coakley

I am reposting this podcast and blog post because it has links to several articles that followed the original NYTimes article about The Biggest Loser.  It also contains an article I wrote for “Medium” as well as the podcast where I try to see the research as more hopeful than depressing.

The “weight” news of a week last May 2016 concerned the research study done on 14 contestants of the TV show “The Biggest Loser”. The links to these articles are here.®ion=Marginalia&pgtype=article®ion=Marginalia&pgtype=article

The podcast today is about these articles and how I see them as hopeful rather than depressing.  Hopeful because I really do feel like I'm not as crazy as I thought–as in ‘who in their right mind would lose and then regain those lost pounds? Turns out, it's not as much psychological as it is our reptilian brains.  Go figure.

Here is the article I published on Medium.

And for those Connect followers: here is the recipe for cauliflower bread that finally worked for me is linked here.
