If you've never eaten while crying you don't know what life tastes like.-wolfgang von goethe.
Episode 112 begins with a funny wise quote from a man I don't associate with diets or weight management but obviously someone who had his share of down days and trying to find something in the frig to help him through it.
This week I am sharing other fun and wise quotes that I hope will appeal to you, give you some respite from the daily news, and offer some affirmation of your own issues with weight management. It was either funny wise quotes or talking about the state of obesity dot org, a website with every fact known about fat folks in each state of the United States. Yeah, I decided to go with the quotes. Aren't you glad?
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” -Philip K. Dick from book “I hope I shall arrive soon”
That book title, I HOPE I SHALL ARRIVE SOON, is the title of this episode because it says very poetically what eight years of weight management is like for me. I wistfully hope each day that a sense of mastery will arrive at the door or I shall arrive at this state of mastery hidden in the cupboards. I never seem to arrive at it though and, yet, I successfully keep the weight off. Maybe that feeling of “arriving” is not necessary but it sure would be nice to arrive at MasteryVille.
