Have you ever made your own yogurt? My celestial family gathers around every Thursday in a collective state of shock and awe that I am doing it.
I made this little video after the first batch before I had strained it. I've since learned I should try and keep it heated for 5-10 minutes at that 185º temp for just the right taste.
I've been doing it every week for 2 months with 100% whole milk and then after it's “cooked” in my yogurt machine, I strain it for an hour to arrive at Greek Yogurt. It tastes much better than I ever thought it could. I add no sugars or flavorings.
The fuller fat makes it last longer in terms of satiety for me and if I eat it with a few nuts/seeds instead of fruit, it lasts me even longer. There's something about mixing berries in with it that spikes something in my blood sugar in the morning. I'm better off having fruit later on in the day.
It also saves me money.
Another consideration that my celestial family just eye rolls and shakes their head muttering,
“Oh, really, she's thrifty, now?
What would your deceased relatives think of your changes? There have been changes, right?
I can't be the only one.
